SOLAS Approved Hydrostatic release unit HRU for life raft
A hydrostatic relief unit (HRU) is a pressure-driven mechanism. It is designed to automatically deploy the life raft under a certain pressure. If the vessel sinks, the HRU will activate and release the life raft at a depth of 1.5 to 4 meters.
Hydrostatic Release Unit Features
·For extra safety, the life raft automatically deploys when the boat sinks
·Safe and reliable, simple design, easy to install
·No maintenance required
HRU usage precautions
·Check that your security equipment has the appropriate HRU
·Check whether the static pressure relief device is installed correctly
·Check that the liferaft applicator is connected to the HRU weak link
·Ensure HRU is repaired or replaced before expiration date
Product working principle
·As the ship sank, the HRU cut the ropes and the con tainers floated to the surface.
·As the ship sank further, the tension on the coated cables caused the life raft to expand out of the container.
·The tensile force acting on the weak link will cause it to break, releasing the life raft from the ship.
