Usage
>Various types of fires<
Fire is classified into six categories, namely A, B, C, D, E, and F, based on the type of combustible materials and the characteristics of combustion. The scenarios of each type of fire are described as follows:
• Class A Fire
Definition: It refers to fires involving solid substances. Such substances usually have organic properties and generally produce glowing embers during combustion.
Scenarios: For example, fires of wood, cotton, wool, linen, paper, etc. are common in places like family residences, offices, warehouses, etc., where there are a large number of flammable solid materials such as wooden furniture and paper documents. For instance, in an archive room storing a large amount of paper documents, a fire caused by a short circuit in the electrical wires igniting the paper is a Class A fire.
• Class B Fire
Definition: It refers to fires of liquids or fusible solid substances.
Scenarios: Such as fires of gasoline, kerosene, diesel, crude oil, methanol, ethanol, asphalt, paraffin, etc. are common in places like gas stations, oil depots, chemical plants, and auto repair shops. For example, in an auto repair shop, if a gasoline barrel is accidentally knocked over during the repair process and the gasoline leaks and encounters an open flame, it will trigger a Class B fire.
• Class C Fire
Definition: It refers to gas fires.
Scenarios: Such as fires of coal gas, natural gas, methane, ethane, propane, hydrogen, etc. are common in places like gas supply stations, chemical plants, and kitchens. For example, if there is a gas pipeline leak in a home kitchen and it encounters an open flame or electrostatic sparks, it will trigger a Class C fire.
• Class E Fire
Definition: It refers to fires involving charged objects.
Scenarios: Commonly found in places such as power distribution rooms, generator rooms, and electrical equipment rooms. For example, in a power distribution room, due to a fault in the electrical equipment that generates an arc, igniting the surrounding flammable materials will trigger a Class E fire.
• Class F Fire
Definition: It refers to fires of cooking materials (such as animal and vegetable oils) in cooking appliances.
Scenarios: It mainly occurs in the kitchen. For example, if the oil in the pot overheats and catches fire while stir-frying, or when frying food, the oil splashes onto an open flame, it will trigger a Class F fire.
>Dry powder fire extinguishing balls are suitable for the following fire scenarios<
• Class A: Fires involving solid combustibles such as wood and paper in places like homes and offices.
• Class B: Fires involving flammable liquids such as gasoline and methanol in locations like auto repair shops and chemical plants.
• Class C: Fires involving flammable gases such as natural gas and hydrogen in areas like kitchens and gas supply stations.
• Class E: Fires involving electrical equipment in places like transformer and distribution rooms and computer rooms.
