Suitable for various kind of vessel; Can be drived by diesel engine, electrical motor. According to the different type of propeller, it can be divided into two kind: CPP type and FPP type. According to installation type it can be divided into vertical installation type and horizontal installation type. On the basic of design concept of reliability, high efficiency and endurance, our tunnel thruster have following feature:


1. General introduction of our factory
Our factory is the authorized manfacturer of propulsion system for China Navy. We design and produce thrusters for them every year. And we introduced technology from KAMEWA and SCHOTTEL. We have beed dedicated in it for more than 30 years.

2. Application of marine bow thrusters / electric bow thruster:
Bow and tunnel thrusters are primarily used for docking, slow speed maneuvering, emergency steering and station keeping at zero or slow forward speed. They are installed transversely in the bow or the stern of a vessel.

3. Different driven type of marine bow thruters / electric bow thruster

3.1. Electric driven marine bow thrusters
Electric drive bow thrusters with fixed pitch propeller are available from 250 to 10, 750 HP (8.0MW). They are designed for variable speed electric motor input, either DC with SCR control systems or AC with variable frequency drives. Most are used in dynamic positioning applications.

3.2. Diesel engine driven marine bow thrusters:
Engine driven bow thrusters for direct engine drive are available in the range of 250 to 3, 000 HP. The engine must be provided with a marine gear with a reduction ratio to match the input speed. A cardan shaft connects between the output shaft of the marine gear and the input shaft.

3.3. Hydraulic driven marine bow thrusters:
We offer a great line of hydraulic bow thrusters. They are used all over the world, many of them in dynamic positioning applications. Hydraulic bow thrusters are available from 35hp to 2, 000hp. Geared Bow thrusters for electric or direct engine drive are available from 250 to 3, 000 HP.

1. Bridge control Panel
Crew members use this panel on the bridge to operate and monitor the tunnel thruster. They can issue operation commands and adjust parameters to achieve remote control of the thruster.
2. Broadside control
Panel It facilitates the control of the thruster at the ship's broadside position. It enables local operation near the thruster, which is useful for close - range debugging and emergency control.
3. Portable control stick
It provides a flexible control method. Operators can hold it and move freely within a certain range to control the thruster, which is suitable for some special operation scenarios or emergencies.
4. Central control unit
As the core of the thruster control system, it receives commands from various control terminals (such as the bridge and broadside). After processing, it sends control signals to other components to coordinate the collaborative work of all parts of the thruster.
5. Drive motor starter with built - in load sensing device
It starts the drive motor and, through the built - in load sensing device, continuously monitors the load of the motor. It adjusts the starting process and operating parameters according to the load to protect the motor from over - load operation.
6. Coupling
It connects the drive motor and other rotating components (such as the propeller shaft) of the thruster, transmits power, ensures synchronous rotation of the two, and buffers and reduces vibration and impact during operation.
7. Drive motor
It provides the power source for the tunnel thruster, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive components such as the propeller to rotate, enabling the thruster to generate thrust.
8. Tunnel thruster unit
It contains core components such as the propeller and the tunnel tube. It is the key part for generating thrust. By the rotation of the propeller, it pushes water flow to achieve operations such as ship steering and positioning.
9. Hydraulic unit with electric pump and control valve
The electric pump provides pressurized oil for the hydraulic system, and the control valve regulates the flow direction, pressure, and flow rate of the hydraulic oil. It is used to control components that require hydraulic drive, such as adjusting the pitch of a controllable - pitch propeller.
10. Pitch transmitter
It is used to measure and transmit the information of the propeller pitch, feeding back the actual value of the pitch to the control system, so that operators can know the pitch status and make adjustments.
11. Gravity tank
It provides gravity - fed oil for the hydraulic system, etc. During system operation, it supplies oil to components that require lubrication or hydraulic power relying on its own gravity to ensure the normal lubrication and power supply of the system.
12. Hand pump
When the electric pump fails or emergency operation is required, this pump is manually operated to provide pressurized oil for the hydraulic system, maintaining the operation of some functions of the thruster. It is a backup power supply device.
